Swine flu strikes Hollywood
And the swine flu is back. This time, however, it’s managed to get hold of the famous redheaded Harry Potter film star, Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley. His publicist released this information just yesterday, three days before the latest installment in the Harry Potter movie collection is set to premiere in London, as reported by the AFP.
The article also reported that Grint took several days off filming the next movie in the series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” but is still expected to join his co-stars for the release of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
I don’t know about you, but if I were Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) or Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), I’d keep a distance between myself and Grint, just to be safe.
In a statement given to the press, Grint’s publicist said, “It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu. He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards.”
First off, he had a “mild bout”? Is there any such thing as a mild case of the swine flu? I don’t think so, but it does go to show the fibs, ahem, understatements PR people will make to have their person maintain a certain public opinion. And second, how long did Grint have the swine flu, exactly? It only slipped yesterday that he had the virus in the first place.
Whatever the case, misinformation, or delay in receipt of information, hopefully, Grint will continue to be just fine.
